Paintbrush Cookies

We used to make these at Christmas and Easter. We would cut out easy chick shapes from cardboard and then place the cutout on the dough. The pointy tipped plastic knives worked well to cut the dough without tearing. Mom would man the oven. Leisa and I would use food coloring as paint and be at the kitchen table. When Todd came along we would put him in the high chair and feed him bits of cookies or dough. Occasionally, we would sneak a "paint job" on his face or hands to keep him occupied.
